Director of Product Management

Based: UK WFH with travel to London and Bristol offices

The Role:

We are looking for a passionate technologist to lead the global product strategy. The Director of Product Management will manage the product management teams, own the product roadmap, and lead the development execution process for our technology platform.

The Director of Product Management will report directly to the Global Chief Digital Officer, collaborating with multiple stakeholder teams around the world, managing how we bring software products to market, what purpose they serve, and how much they will cost.

They will be responsible for creating solutions that drive large scale impact, creating value for clients and profitable revenue growth for Investis. This is a role for an accomplished product leader with a significant track record of managing and delivering digital product portfolios in competitive markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and launch software products that enhance the Investis offering, lead a global team of product managers, setting KPIs and measuring productivity
  • Stay up-to-date with technology trends and the constantly shifting challenges of the digital landscape, be a thought leader in digital communications, both internally and externally
  • Create packages and set pricing for our product portfolio, track the success of products to monitor their performance with clients, analyse outcomes to define future roadmaps
  • Challenge inefficiencies in development and delivery processes and improve operational effectiveness across product teams around the world
  • Become an expert in Investis technology products, ensuring clients receive accurate information about our platform capabilities and sales and service teams are equipped with the latest information and marketing collateral
  • Participate in daily product scrums, write user stories, and prioritize the development of new features and functions, lead the product teams by participating in all stages of development
  • Talk to customers about new Investis product offerings, conduct customer interviews and create product surveys, participate in whiteboarding sessions and strategy workshops with clients and software teams
  • Work with internal training teams to develop enablement programmes for sales and service teams, partner with build and delivery teams around the world, ensuring technical teams understand and can work with software products and processes
  • Travel to Bristol and London, with occasional travel to Phoenix, New York, and Baroda (India) where and when appropriate

The Candidate:

  • Experience leading international product management teams for a software or web development organisation
    Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, able to focus developers on working in line with business and product goals
  • Able to create product strategies and champion them across the organisation, working closely with executive leadership and stakeholder teams
  • Extensive experience as a product manager or business analyst capturing functional requirements, writing user-stories, and prioritizing the development backlog
  • Strong project management skills including tracking resource utilization, timelines, project milestones, and budgets
  • A digital thought leader who enjoys speaking in front of groups, and writing for product blogs and press releases
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, such as Sitecore, Drupal, WordPress or other platforms considered very desirable
  • Experience conducting market research and competitor analysis, someone who can identify market opportunities and develop products to capitalise on them
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to communicate complex information to wide ranging audiences in a clear and engaging way
  • Strong leadership skills with the talent to lead through influence, a team player, someone able to act as a role model by demonstrating good behaviour and values to others
